From YEA missionary Shelby Boyd Saturday, November 28, 2009

Casa Kim, the Tekax orphanage, is now completed and officially
open!  We passed our final inspection today and our certificate will
be ready Monday morning.

We will meet with the state DIF (The National System for the Integral
Development of the Family) Tuesday and the local DIF later in
the week to start receiving the children. In addition to double
orphans, they have asked us to take in children whose parents are in
prison, or in long term drug rehab programs. Court appointed rehab
programs usually mandate one year.

Captain Juan, from the Salvation Army, will be coming tomorrow and
has agreed to work with us. He has many contacts for food and
clothing donations and has copies of all forms required by the
government and DIF necessary to accept and care for the children.
This includes medical forms, school requirements, etc.

The building is complete, and looks super. We now need to prepare to
receive the children.
